Henley’s ever popular Christmas Carol Concert. This year features Cecilia McDowall’s A Winter’s Night, George Dyson’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in D, plus other carols for choir and audience. We are joined in the afternoon by our wonderful Henley Youth Choirs
Henley Choral Society perform a programme of music and texts written in times of crisis. Haydn’s ‘Nelson’ Mass is performed alongside Allegri’s famous setting of Psalm 51, Miserere Mei Deus, Stanford’s For Lo, I Raise Up and Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer.
Henley Choral Society join forces with The Bell Quartet, recent winners of the Wolfe Wolfinsohn Quartet Prize, in a programme based around two contrasting British works: Purcell’s Welcome To All The Pleasures and Elgar’s From the Bavarian Highlands. There will also be other music by Byrd, Morley, Stanford and Parry. A lighter programme for a summer evening on the banks of the Thames. For more information and tickets:
